About me
I am an experienced designer with a demonstrated history of working in the financial services industry and start-up companies. Design emphases include branding, app design, print, signage and web design. I am skilled in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, Lightroom, InDesign, Figma, and Sketch.
I have a passion for good teamwork and sincerely believe that great things are never done by a single person but are accomplished by a great team. I believe that a detail-orientated creative process creates masterpieces that can impress customers and prospects alike. I have had the opportunity to work with companies big and small and am always willing to meet new friends.
I seek for design inspirations all over the world. My influences originated in my birthplace, Hong Kong, but continued onwards to various locations from the Rocky Mountains to Philadelphia. I currently reside in Utah but a make special emphasis to continue to seek new designs by traveling all over the world.
My process
It’s crucial to have a plan before you execute. To have a good end product, you need a solid foundation that clearly defines what you are trying to accomplish and why. The following outlines what I strongly recommend before beginning a project:
For Branding:
I request that my clients identify three adjectives that they would use to describe their brand.
Based on the selected adjectives, I identify various combinations of colors, logo options and typographies.
Client selects the most appropriate creation option then I create and deliver a style guide that includes:
- Logo
- Color scheme
- typography
- Letterheads
- Business Cards
- Signage
- Any requested materials
For Web and App:
1. Content
Ideas are organized, written out and documented. High level understanding of key performance indicators and objectives.
- Project Goal
- Project Objectives
- Reason for webpage
- Proposed timeline
2. Wireframe
Project organization laid out and organized on webpage layout. A person should view wireframe and understand the “flow” and all content of webpage. Determine the user experience of the webpage.
- hierarchy of information
- form fields determined
- where webpage will live/url
3. Design
The look, feel and theme of the webpage is created using the wireframe as reference. Create graphics where needed. Include all ideas on animations and web interactions.
- color
- style
- typography
4. Development
As someone who is not a developer, I would defer to a developer and work closely to make sure my vision for the website or app comes to life the way I intended it to. I can also create simple brochure websites that doesn't require anything functionality beyond a contact us form.
This website was designed and created by me with a template on Webflow.
